Blade Series Make Sure The Quality Meets The Requirements May 12, 2017

Regardless of iron, aluminum or steel, mechanical processing of the Blade Series will turn them into the desired shape. The Blade Series is made of the hardest material in the world. World famous tool supplier Sandvik Coromant shared the process of their Blade Series production, which is located in Sweden Gimo (Gimo) production base.

1. The main components of the Blade Series are different proportions of tungsten carbide and cobalt, the raw material is the initial form of powder. The containers are filled with raw materials and they will be used to produce different powders. Each container weighs about 560 kg.

 2. In the workshop, the dry raw materials and ethanol and water mixed with the solvent to form a paste similar to the yogurt gray paste.

3. After the slurry dries, send the sample to the laboratory for quality inspection. These powders consist of a number of particles having a diameter of 20 to 200 microns. They are very small (a hair thickness is 50 to 60 microns).

4 & 5. These powders are packed in a barrel of 100 kg in volume and fed to the edge of the press used to make the Blade Series. The operator puts the die (the die for stamping the different Blade Seriess) into the machine and enters the order number into the computer. The mold cavity is filled with powder. Stamping the pressure of each Blade Series up to 12 tons. The machine will weigh each Blade Series and the operator will also observe the control. At this stage, the Blade Series is very fragile and easily broken.

6. For hardening, the stamping Blade Series needs to be heated. This work is done by the sintering furnace. Sintering furnace can handle thousands of Blade Seriess at a time. The compressed Blade Series powder is heated to about 1,500 degrees Celsius for up to 13 hours and melted to form a hard alloy with a very high hardness. The shrinkage ratio in the sintering process is about 50%, so the size of the Blade Series after sintering is only half that of the previous.

7. Once the quality control is done again in the lab, the top and bottom of the Blade Series will be ground to the desired thickness. Because the cement is very hard, so you need to use the world's hardest material - industrial diamond, grinding it.

8. When the Blade Series reaches the desired thickness, it is further ground to obtain precise geometries and dimensions. This is the most advanced grinding process carried out at the Kemmer plant and requires a 6-axis grinding plate to meet extremely stringent tolerances.

9. After grinding is complete, the Blade Series is cleaned and sent to the coating. At this stage, to avoid any grease or dust, gloves must be worn when handling the Blade Series. The Blade Series will be placed on the jaws of the turntable and then fed to the lower pressure coating furnace. The Blade Series is from here to have a different color.

10. The Blade Series has been produced. We will use a microscope to sample each batch of products to ensure that the quality meets the requirements.

11. Before packing, we will check each Blade Series one by one again and check the drawing and batch number. Then use the laser to mark the correct material on the Blade Series and place the Blade Series in the labeled gray box. Now you can send the Blade Series to the customer.
